Use

You use this function to initiate a reorganization within your area of responsibility, or to transfer employees (persons) to positions either within or outside your area of responsibility. For transferring employees (persons) to positions outside you area of responsibility, see Transfer Across Area of Responsibility.

Features

You can make the following reorganizational changes:

You can move organizational units, positions or holders (employees/persons or users) within the tree structure of your area of responsibility to another organizational object using drag & drop.

Activities

  1. As a change of assignment between organizational units and positions or between positions and holders directly or indirectly affecting an employee (person) occurs during a reorganization, a dialog box containing a date field and a combo box for the selection of an action appear.
  2. From the combo box, choose a personnel action that describes the reorganization process.
  3. When you save the dialog box, a workflow is automatically triggered. This means that you yourself do not have to carry out personnel actions that are necessary due to the transfer. This is carried out by a member of the human resources department who receives the workflow tasks in his or her inbox, checks, processes and closes the personnel actions. See also Workflow – Transferring Employees

Note

If employees (persons) are moved, a red arrow appears next to the original location until the personnel action is carried out in Personnel Administration. A green arrow appears next to the location that the object is being moved to. The original and future assignment periods are also both displayed. The arrow and the assignment periods only appear, however, if you select the Directly Subordinate Employees or the All Subordinate Employees tab page.

Caution

Note that there are certain object types that you can never assign to other object types. You cannot, therefore, put position holders (employees/persons or users) directly under organizational units, positions under persons, or organizational units under organizational units that are assigned to them. In this case, an error message will appear and - if required - a dialog box with detailed information. Meaning of the Traffic Light Icons
