Use

This function allows you to move organizational objects (organizational units, positions or holders) and reassign them to new superior objects. You can not, however, carry out every imaginable combination of moves or assignments.

If an object can be moved, it will appear under the new target object in the tree structure. If you previously selected Settings ® Move with Additional Information, a dialog box containing a green traffic light will appear.

If, however, one or more of the selected objects may not be moved, a message appears and, if previously selected, a dialog box displaying a green, yellow or red traffic light.

Green Traffic Lights

All objects that can be moved to the selected target node (target object) on the given date are given green traffic lights. Assignment periods are adjusted as follows:

If the beginning of the previous assignment comes after the selected moving date, the new assignment is created with the same start date as the previous one. Otherwise, the start date will be the same as the moving date.

The end of the new assignment will be the same as the end of the old assignment if the validity period of the new object allows. If the validity period of the object ends before the end of the old assignment, you cannot assign the object. The object appears under the red traffic light. If the end of the old assignment comes before the end of the validity period of the new object, you can display a message by pressing the info icon.

Yellow Traffic Lights

Those objects that can not be assigned to the target object on a given date are given a yellow traffic light. There are several possible reasons for this:

Red Traffic Lights

Those objects that cannot be assigned to the target node (target object) are given a red traffic light. There are several possible reasons for this:
