Creating a Concept
Use
A concept contains a specific realization option for a component variant. It provides the information required for this specific possible solution, such as a digital mockup (DMU) document or material data.
Prerequisites
You have maintained the product structure in the iPPE Workbench. The product structure contains at least one component variant that has a concept group.
Procedure
Start the iPPE workbench in change mode. Load the product structure, and display the Basic data 1 tab page for the component variant
.
You see the list of individual concepts
.
The following overview lists the essential functions for processing a concept.
|
Function |
Procedure |
|
Create concept |
On the Concepts tab page, you create concepts for the individual realization options. The first concept you create automatically becomes the Active Concept. Once there is more than one concept, you can activate whichever concept you want. See Defining an Active Concept |
|
Maintain document |
On the Documents tab page, you maintain the document link or create a new document.
|
|
Classify concept |
You classify the concept on the Classification tab page. You can classify a concept in classes of class type 056 (iPPE Variants).
|
|
Display basic data |
On the Basic data tab page, display the administration data. |
Result
You have maintained the detail data for the concept.
Once you have maintained the possible concepts, you can activate a concept and simulate the data transfer to the component variant.
