Business organizations can convert their local currency to euros at any time during the dual currency phase. The following data must be changed accordingly at various times:

• Master data

• Open activities such as orders

• Vendor data

Up to now, it has only been possible to process a changeover with immediate effect - for example, with the help of mass change reports. By using the Euro workbench, you can now process a scheduled changeover of the business partners - that is, the changeover can be scheduled exactly and can be automated. The process is divided into two steps:

In the first step, you create the changeover plan, stipulating the following data:

• The objects to be converted

• The time frame for the conversion

• The person responsible for processing the changeover

The actual changeover is processed in the second step.

The customers and vendors of IDES AG will convert to euros at various times. The dates in question must be maintained individually. IDES uses the Euro Workbench, so that the changeover can take place as quickly as possible.

The scenario discussed covers the conversion only for sales and distribution. The procedure for materials management is similar.
