This demo shows the make-to-order production (assembly) of gasoline tanks for motor-bikes.

The demo mainly focuses on a close integration of sales and distribution, production and shipment to be able to dispatch the sales order to the customer as quickly as possible after the production completion. For this purpose, we defined an SAP Business Workflow according to these procedure that supports the employees involved as far-reaching as possible and enables a smooth course.

In contrast to the conventional shipping processing, the employees do not have to become active themselves and periodically retrieve the sales orders to be delivered, to be able to create a delivery. Instead, the workflow system notifies the sales persons responsible and respective persons in the shipping department as soon as the corresponding production order has been produced and can be delivered. Therefore the time between production completion and shipment is distinctly shortened (and thus the delivery time).
