Proposal Pool Administration: Construction

Use

The Construction function in Proposal Pool Administration enables you to create new proposal pools for language combinations for which translation as not yet taken place. To do this you use existing proposal pools as the basis for your 'constructed' proposal pool.

Prerequisites

To use this function, you need to have coordinator status for proposal pool maintenance in your translator profile in transaction SLWA. For more information, see Creating Translator Profiles.

Features

This function enables you to do the following:

Construct a triangle proposal pool on the basis of 2 existing proposal pools that have a common source language.

If you translate from German to English, and from German to French, you could create a proposal pool with source language French and target language English.

Construct a proposal pool by reversing the source language and target language of an existing proposal pool.

If you already have a proposal pool with source language English and target language Japanese, you could use this function to create a proposal pool with source language Japanese and target language English.

Activities

Both jobs for constructing a proposal pool must be scheduled to run in the background. You can check their progress by choosing Run administration from any screen in Proposal Pool Administration. These jobs are both performance-intensive and time-consuming.
