Constructing a Triangle Proposal Pool 

Use

You can use the Triangle PP function to construct a new proposal pool on the basis of 2 existing proposal pools that have a common source language.

If you translate from German to English, and from German to French, you could create a proposal pool with source language French and target language English.

Prerequisites

Before you can construct a triangle proposal pool, 2 proposal pools must already exist which have a common source language.

Procedure

  1. Enter transaction /NSTMA in the command field and choose the Source language and Target language of the new proposal pool you wish to construct.
  2. Choose Construction ® Triangle PP.
  3. Check that the source and target language of the proposal pool you want to create are entered correctly and choose the source language which these two languages have in common.
  4. Under Mode, make the following settings:

If you choose this option, then the system recognizes length variants and inserts them accordingly.

You need to set this indicator if translators are currently working in the proposal pools to be used for this construction. If you set this indicator, the system sets a lock which prevents entries being altered if a translator is currently editing them (this applies to both source and target languages).

  1. Under Inclusion level in proposal pool, choose on of the following options:

These options are sorted in ascending order, with the first option Only include unique system standards providing the highest quality proposal pool. The third and fourth options should be used with caution.

  1. Enter a comment for this background job.
  2. Choose Check to check the consistency of your entries.
  3. If the message No inconsistencies were found appears, you can schedule the run.

  4. Choose Schedule.
  5. The system displays the dialog box Start Time which offers you further selection options.

  6. Choose Immediate or schedule the job to run at night by choosing Date/Time.
  7. You can also schedule the run to start after a particular job or event, by choosing After job or After event.

    At operation mode refers to daytime or nighttime operation.

  8. Save your entries.
  9. This system displays a dialog box in which you can enter the name of a printer for the output of the log.

  10. Enter a printer name in the Output device field and choose Continue
  11. This system displays a dialog box in which you can enter the name of a background server on which you want the job to run.

  12. Select a background server and choose Choose.

The system asks you if you want to schedule the job. Choose Yes.

Result

The job is run in the background. You can check its progress by choosing Run administration. When the job as finished, a log is output to the output device you selected.
