Scheduling an Automatic Distribution Run
Prerequisites
Before you schedule an automatic distribution run, you need to ensure the following:
Procedure
The screen Automatic Distribution: Target Language appears. This screen lists a list of the target languages available in the system. The target languages are displayed in either blue or gray. Blue indicates that the codepage of the target language is supported on the current application server. Gray means that the codepage of the target language is not compatible with the codepage of the application server on which you are logged on.
You can only perform automatic distribution for a language that is displayed in blue. If you want to perform automatic distribution for a target language that is displayed in gray, you will need to log on to an application server that does support the codepage of the target language.
The Automatic Distribution: Scheduling screen appears.
If you have already scheduled an automatic distribution run in the past, a popup will appear, asking you whether you want to use the data you entered for the last run as a reference. If you choose Yes, the Automatic Distribution: Scheduling screen will contain the parameters that you entered for the last automatic distribution run. If you choose No, the screen will contain the default settings for an automatic distribution run.
Languages
Here you need to enter the source language of the texts that you want to be automatically translated by automatic distribution.
This field is already filled with the target language that you selected on the previous screen Automatic Distribution: Target Language.
Text types
Object types
To select the types of object that you want to include in the automatic distribution run, choose Object types and a dialog box will appear containing the translation object types.
.You can now select the object types either manually by double-clicking on the nodes/subnodes that you require, or you can use the functions Choose all assigned object types or Deselect unassigned object types. Selected object types will be displayed in yellow, unselected object types are displayed in blue. If you select object types that are not assigned then these will be marked with
.
Development classes
If you choose this option, you can select the development classes that you want to include in the automatic distribution run from the application hierarchy in the dialog box that appears.
.
.If you choose this option, you can select the development classes you wish to use in the automatic distribution run by means of assignment to translator in SLWA.
In both cases, you can now select development classes either manually by double-clicking on the nodes/subnodes/translators that you require, or you can use the following functions to help you:
Selected development classes will be displayed in yellow, unselected development classes are displayed in blue. If you select development that are unassigned or locked, these will be marked with
.
Proposals
If you choose this option, then only those proposals you have flagged for automatic distribution in the proposal pool will be distributed in the automatic distribution run. For more information, see Flagging Texts for Automatic Distribution.
If you choose this option, then only those proposals that you have flagged for automatic distribution in the proposal pool and which only have one proposal will be distributed in the automatic distribution run.
If you choose this option, all
best proposals will be used in the automatic distribution run. In other words, all untranslated texts for which a proposal exists will be translated with the best proposal. A warning message will appear when you schedule the run with this option.

The Use every best proposal option should be used with extreme caution and should only be used in specific situations (for example, for a limited selection of development classes and object types belonging to one specific translator in cases when a translation is urgently needed and the translator in question is not available).
Options
If you choose this option, only new (red) texts will be translated using the proposals you have defined for automatic distribution (either the proposals you have selected in the proposal pool, or all best proposals).
If you select this option, any modified (yellow) texts will be replaced with the proposals you have defined for automatic distribution.
If you choose this option, correctly translated (green) texts will also be replaced proposals you have defined for automatic distribution. This option may be useful if you want to improve length variants (for example, replace CoCode with Comp. code if there is enough space). A warning message will appear if you schedule the run with this option.
Statistics
If you select these options, the system will prepare the statistics so that you can view the statistics status directly before and after the automatic distribution run. This enables you to see the exact effect of the run on the translation statistics.
A dialog box appears asking you if you want to save the data and schedule the run.
A dialog box appears where you can choose whether to schedule automatic distribution to run immediately, or schedule it to run at a later stage.
The Background Print Parameters dialog box appears, where you can specify an Output device. For performance reasons, you are advised to deactivate the Print immediately option.
The system now displays a dialog box listing the background servers that can be used with the codepage of your language.
A dialog box appears containing the name of your automatic distribution run and asking for confirmation to schedule the run.
A dialog box will appear, informing you that the automatic distribution run has been scheduled.
Result
The system now returns to the Automatic Distribution: Target Language screen. The status of your automatic distribution run (scheduled, active, terminated) will be displayed next to your target language in the list. You can choose Refresh to view the current status of the run.
If an automatic distribution run is terminated, you need to return to the Automatic Distribution: Scheduling screen and choose Schedule run again.
