Scheduling Postprocessing

The postprocessing program performs housekeeping functions on the data in the database after the archiving session without accessing the archive file. Postprocessing is usually not necessary.

  1. Select Postprocessing.
This takes you to the Background job scheduling screen, in which you can schedule a batch job for the program.
  2. Select a variant with the F4 key. If there are no existing variants, choose Variants to maintain the desired variant.
  3. You can only use a variant in one job. As long as a job with this variant exists this variant cannot be used in another job -- even if it has already run successfully.

  4. Maintain the Start Date and the Spool Parameters.
  5. The Archive Directory pushbutton enables you to establish how much free memory space there is in the current object-specific archive directory.

  6. You have now entered all the data required for the background job. Choose Create job to create the job.
