Transferring Texts from a Proposal Pool Worklist

Use

The Transfer function in Proposal Pool Administration enables you to transfer proposals collected in a specific worklist from one translation system to one or more translation systems.

You can use this function for the following purposes:

Transferring corrections you have made in one translation system, to ensure that cleanups made in one system are carried through to other translation systems.

Transferring automatic distribution and lock indicators, to avoid having to flag the same proposals in multiple translation systems.

Prerequisites

To use the Transfer function you need to be assigned value 4 (Coordinator) for Proposal pool maintenance (area T1) in your translator profile. For more information, see Creating Translator Profiles.

An RFC destination to the target system must be available in the system from which you want to transfer the proposal. You can check if an RFC destination exists in transaction SM59. For more information, see Displaying, Maintaining and Testing Destinations. (You also require appropriate authorization for working with RFC destinations.)

Both source and destination translation systems must have a Basis release level of 4.6C or higher.

You need to have created a proposal pool worklist in Proposal Pool administration. For more information, see Proposal Pool Administration: Technical Worklists.

Procedure

Call up transaction STMA.

Select the Source language and Target language of the proposal pool for which you want to transfer proposals.

Choose Worklists ® Worklist administration.

Select the proposal pool worklist that contains the proposals you wish to transfer, and choose Transfer.

The dialog box Export entries appears.

In the RFC connection(s) field, enter the RFC destination of the translation system to which you wish to transfer the proposals for this source text. To transfer the proposals to multiple systems, use the Multiple selection function.

Under Transfer mode, choose one of the following options:

Only insert new entries

If you choose this option, existing proposals in the destination system(s) are not overwritten by the proposals in the source system. The system, however, inserts any additional proposals that exist in the source system, but do not yet exist in the destination system(s).

Also overwrite old entries

If you choose this option, the system overwrites all existing proposals in the destination systems(s) with the proposals from the source system.

If the destination system contains proposals that do not exist in the source system, these will not be overwritten, whatever Transfer mode you select.

Choose Execute.

The remote logon screen for the destination system appears.

Enter your logon data and choose Enter.

Result

The system transfers the proposals from the source system to the destination system.

The system also transfers all Details and any lock / automatic distribution flags along with the proposals.

If the transfer was successful, the message The entries were successfully transferred appears.
