Sampling Procedure with Percentage Sample

The sampling procedures in the R/3 System involve complex processes and relationships. This example describes some of the entries you can make in a sampling procedure.

Scenario

You want to plan an attributive inspection for a goods receipt. You want the system to calculate the sample size, based on a percentage value of the inspection lot quantity. You also want to inspect and valuate independent multiple samples.

Assignments

You choose a Sample percentage as the sampling type and the valuation mode Attributive inspection number of defects. You set the indicator Without inspection points and choose Continue.

Multiple Samples

On the special conditions screen, you set the indicator Indep multiple smps. This allows the characteristics to be valuated after each of the samples has been valuated. You choose Sample and select an additional valuation rule in the dialog box. The system then uses this rule to valuate the characteristic, based on the valuations of the individual samples.

Additional Data for the Sample

You choose Sample and enter the sample size as a percentage of the lot size and the percentage of nonconforming units for an acceptance.
