You can use this procedure to configure a bar code for layaway transaction receipts. This expedites the layaway pickup process so that when a customer presents their receipt, the information that triggers the pickup can be read from the bar code instead of keyed in by the cashier.

To configure the Pending Transaction Pickup

Create a barcode in Bar Code configuration and define the following settings:
Prefix Mask
Scan Data Type
Auto Ref. Number Position and Length
. (This sets the pending transaction number in the barcode.)
In
Item Entry Control
configuration, create an item entry control record referencing the bar code definition created in step 1 in theBar Code
field.Configure the following additional settings:

to thePickup Function ID
(533 is the default)
