Adding Apps to Your LaunchpadLocate this document in the navigation structure

You can add apps to any of the unlocked groups in your home page, or to new groups that you create.

Prerequisites

To personalize your home page, your administrator must first enable edit mode in the launchpad configuration.

Context

Use the app finder to find SAP Fiori apps in the Catalog tab, and SAP GUI and Web Dynpro ABAP apps in the SAP Menu and User Menu tabs.

There are two ways that you can add apps to your home page:

  • From the app finder using the catalog and the SAP Easy Access menu

  • From a group in the home page

Note You cannot add tiles to locked groups.

Adding Apps from the Catalog in the App Finder

Context

The app finder opens in the Catalog tab. Apps are sorted into catalogs, so you can either browse all the catalogs, or use the filter to find apps from a specific catalog. You can also use the search bar to find apps by their titles and keywords.

Procedure

  1. Click App Finder in the Me Area.
  2. From the Catalog tab that opens, locate the app that you want to add to your homepage.
  3. Click or tap the or icons below the app.
    Tip The icon indicates that the app has not yet been added to a group. The icon indicates that the app is already assigned to at least one group.
  4. Add the app to one or more groups from the Add Tile to Groups dialog box. You can also create a new group and add the app to it or you can remove an app from a group by deselecting it in the same dialog box.

Adding Apps from the SAP Easy Access Menu in the App Finder

Context

Together, the SAP Menu and the User Menu are known as the SAP Easy Access menu. Each tab displays different apps, as configured by your administrator. The procedure of adding apps to your home page, is the same for both menus.

Procedure

  1. Click App Finder in the Me Area.
  2. Click either SAP Menu or User Menu.
  3. If your administrator has configured more than one system, when you open the SAP Easy Access menu for the first time, select a system.
    Note Afterwards, you can always select a different system by clicking Filtered by <system name> in the navigation pane.

    In the navigation pane on the left, you can now see the folders available in the selected system.

  4. Navigate to the folder containing the apps that you want to add to your home page.
  5. Click or tap the or icons below the app.
  6. Add the app to a selected group in the Add Tile to Groups dialog box. Keep repeating the process to add the app to additional groups. You can also create a new group and add the app to it.

Adding Apps from a Group in the Home Page

Context

You can add an app to a group directly from your home page.

Procedure

  1. Click Edit Home Page in the Me Area.
  2. In the home page, click or tap the tile in a group (it's the last tile in the group).
  3. In the Catalog, User Menu, or SAP Menu tabs, click the or icons below the app.

    The app you selected is added to the group you were working on in the launchpad home page.
