The app finder is a convenient tool for finding SAP Fiori, SAP GUI, and Web Dynpro ABAP apps, all in one place.

The app finder is like an app store – it lists all the apps available for your role that you may potentially use in your daily work. You can access the app finder from the options bar in the Me Area and use it to add relevant apps to your home page.

What will I see when the app finder opens?
When you initially open the app finder, the Catalog tab is in focus. Depending on how the administrator has configured your launchpad, you may see only the Catalog consisting of all the SAPUI5 apps that are assigned to catalogs with your role. Your administrator may also configure your app finder to open with other tabs in which case the apps are sorted as follows:

Tab

Description

Catalog

A repository of all the SAP Fiori apps that are assigned to your role.

User Menu

A customized menu that includes folders of those SAP GUI transactions and Web Dynpro ABAP apps assigned to your role in a specific system.

SAP Menu

A standard menu delivered by SAP that includes folders of all SAP GUI transactions and Web Dynpro ABAP apps offered by a particular SAP system. It is role-independent and therefore displays the same content for all users.

Together, the SAP Menu and the User Menu are also known as the SAP Easy Access Menu.

About the apps in the app finder
In the app finder, each app displays one of the following icons:

Icon

Description

Add tile to groups

Indicates that the app has not yet been added to any group.

Add tile to additional groups

Indicates that the app is already assigned to at least one group. You can click it to add the app to more groups or to change the app's group assignment.

When you click or tap these icons, a dialog box opens with a list of groups in your home page. You can click one of the groups or create a new group and add the app to it.
