Managing FPN and WSRP Connections

To facilitate the sharing of portal content (roles, worksets, pages, and iViews) between two or more portals that reside in a federated portal network (FPN), you need to manage the FPN and WSRP connections using the tools that are available to you in the portal. An FPN or WSRP connection is an entity which contains the connection settings that pair two remote systems to one another.

• FPN connections: used to support the remote role assignment and remote delta link usage modes.

• WSRP connections: used to support the WSRP application sharing usage mode.

Managing FPN and WSRP connections from an SAP NetWeaver CE producer portal include the procedures outlined in the following topics:

  Note that to create an FPN connection between your SAP NetWeaver CE system (as a producer portal) and a remote SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or 7.3 system (as a consumer portal), the system administrator must create a producer instance from the remote SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or 7.3 portal.

  Note that a WSRP connection must be created from the remote consumer portal.
