Screen Area

Description

My FPN Connections

Lists all existing FPN connections in which your system is one of the paired portals:

  • Only FPN connections for which you have at least administrator read permission are listed.

  • If the remote system is running the same SAP NetWeaver release as your system (this also includes different SAP enhancement packages or support packages for the same release), then your system can be the consumer portal, the producer portal, or both.

    Note

If a system administrator on a remote system has created an FPN connection that is paired with your system, then the FPN connection instance is displayed on your screen only after the remote administrator has registered the remote system with your system.

  • If the remote system is running SAP NetWeaver 7.0, then your system (the local system) can be either the consumer portal or the producer portal, not both. The system on which the FPN connection is created is the consumer portal. This does not apply to SAP NetWeaver CE, which can only function as a producer.

  • If your system (the local system) is running SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment (CE) without usage type EP Core - Application Portal (EPC) , then your system can only function as a producer portal (with respect to the remote SAP NetWeaver CE portal only). The remote system must be a consumer portal.

  • If the remote system is running SAP NetWeaver CE without usage type EP Core - Application Portal (EPC), then your system (the local system) can only function as a consumer portal (with respect to the remote SAP NetWeaver CE portal only).

Available Systems in System Landscape Directory

Lists all remote systems that are defined in the SLD (if your system is connected to one).

Note

Remote systems that are paired with your system in an FPN connection are displayed in italics on the screen. You can still create additional FPN connection instances with them.

Recommendation

To locate the FPN connection in the My FPN Connections table that represents an SLD-based system, select the system in the Available Systems in System Landscape Directory table, and then choose Locate System .

Sorting the FPN Connection List

You can sort the FPN connections that are listed in the My FPN Connections table as follows:

  • To sort the list alphanumerically, click the appropriate column header. This option is only possible when the list is ungrouped.

  • To group the FPN connections according to their assigned FPN group, choose Sort by Group.

  • To ungroup the list, choose Flat List.

    Note

This flat list sort mode also provides an option that allows you to filter the list by any search string. See instructions below.

You can also change the manner in which systems are displayed in the Available Systems in Landscape Directory table.

Filtering the FPN Connection List

You can filter the FPN connections that are listed in the My FPN Connections table as follows:

  • To filter the list according to a search string, enter the text in the empty filter cell (between the column header and the first item listed in the table) under the appropriate column. This filtering option is only available when the list is ungrouped.

  • To filter the list according to producer/consumer type, activity status, and registration status, choose an option from the Show Connection dropdown list.

You can also filter systems that are listed in the Available Systems in Landscape Directory table by entering a search string in the filter cell under the appropriate column.

Viewing Basic Information about FPN Connections and SLD Systems

To view the basic details of an FPN connection or an SLD system, choose the Expand node icon of an entry in either the My FPN Connections table or the Available Systems in System Landscape Directory table.

The details appear in a pop-in area below the expanded FPN connection or SLD system.
