Critical Variances

Use

Under the heading Critical Variances the manager has various links that he can use to call up the Variance Monitor , that is a component of the Business Package for Common Parts , for the following object types:

  • Profit centers

  • Cost centers

  • Internal orders

Technically, a link calls up a page in a separate window, that in turn calls up the variance monitor with the corresponding value of application parameter monappl using a delta link:

  • Profit center: monappl=PM

  • Cost center: monappl=C

  • Internal order: monappl=O

Prerequisites

So that only objects that are relevant for the particular manager are displayed in the variance monitor, you have to enter them in Customizing under Start of the navigation path Integration with Other mySAP.com Components Next navigation step Business Packages/Functional Packages Next navigation step Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) Next navigation step Personalization Next navigation step Personalization Data: Collective Processing End of the navigation path using the correct p ersonalization dialog . The following personalization dialogs are relevant for the various object types (the same as for the monitors for Critical Postings ):

  • Profit center: DIA_MSS_PRCTRMONITOR

    Note Note

    If you want to access data for component Profit Center Accounting (EC-PCA) , then enter profit center ledger 8A in the personalization dialog in field Ledger .

    If you would like to access data in the new general ledger, then specify the corresponding ledger for component General Ledger Accounting (FI-GL) in the field Ledger .

  • Cost center: DIA_CCMONITOR

  • Internal order: DIA_IOMONITOR

In addition to the personalization dialogs for entering the relevant objects for a manager, there are the following personalization dialogs which you can use to assign user-specific authorizations for the monitor (unlike the monitors for critical postings):

  • Profit center: DIA_PCD_MSS_MOV_PM

  • Cost center: DIA_PCD_MSS_MOV_C

  • Internal order: DIA_PCD_MSS_MOV_O

Using these personalization dialogs you can determine, for example, whether a manager is allowed to create separate rules in the monitor, can update the data displayed, or personalize other objects. Moreover, you can enter an ISR scenario group, which you can use to integrate Internal Service Requests (ISRs) in the monitor. The following ISR scenario groups are delivered for use in the variance monitor:

  • Cost center: Variance monitor for cost centers (SVARIANCEMONITORC)

    Containing the ISR scenarios:

    • Clarification of a variance (SRCV)

    • Notification of a variance (SRCW)

  • Internal order: Variance monitor for internal orders (SVARIANCEMONITORO)

    Containing the ISR scenarios:

    • Budget change (SRB3)

    • Clarification of a variance (SRCV)

    • Notification of a variance (SRCW)
