Managing Objects in the Portal Catalog
Use
The manner in which you set up and organize the hierarchy of folders and objects in the Portal Catalog is completely flexible. Typically, you will want to plan the basic structure in advance, taking into account the distribution of content development into teams, and the assignment of permissions and responsibilities per folder or branch in the structure. For more information, see Delegating Administration Tasks .
In addition to creating new folders and objects using the content-creation wizards (explained in Creating Portal Objects ), the Portal Catalog provides a range of object-specific management and editing features accessed directly from the context menu of each object.
Prerequisites
The proper access permissions have been defined for each potential user. Access permissions determine which folders and objects in the Portal Catalog each user has access to and the actions that can be performed. See Portal Permissions .
