Function documentationSetup Functions for Service Ordering

In order to be able to use service ordering, you must make the necessary settings in Customizing for service processing.

Note Note

In order to setup service ordering, you mainly use the same Customizing activities as for the clinical order.

End of the note.

Caution Caution

Due to a misunderstanding between the nurse and the physician an unauthorized service ordering order has been executed.

This means that procedures which require a justifying indication were executed but not authorized.

The status concept with corresponding authorization checks is available to ensure that service ordering orders are only released for execution by authorized members of staff.

End of the caution.

Prerequisites

In order to be able to use service ordering, you must create corresponding services in the service range of the relevant organizational unit (OU). You call the function for creating a service range from the SAP Easy Access screen via Start of the navigation path Clinical System Next navigation step Basic Clinical Data Next navigation step Service Management Next navigation step Clinical Service Master Next navigation step Service Range End of the navigation path. It does not matter whether you add the service to the service range directly or indirectly via a superordinate group service. You must flag every service which you wish to order as requestable.

You can find information on this under Service Range.

Features

To configure service ordering, execute the Customizing activities listed below in the Customizing of the Industry-Specific Component Clinical System:

  • General Information on Service Ordering

You receive an overview of the specifics of the Customizing settings in service ordering.

You can find more information on this under Start of the navigation path SAP Healthcare - Industry-Specific Component Clinical System Next navigation step Smart UI Next navigation step Applications Next navigation step Service Ordering Next navigation step General Information on Service Ordering End of the navigation path.

  • Set Up Order Number

The order number is optional. You can use the order number as a reference and search criterion for ordered services.

You can find more information on this in Customizing under Start of the navigation path SAP Healthcare - Industry-Specific Component Clinical System Next navigation step Clinical Order Next navigation step Clinical Order Basic Data Next navigation step Set Up Order Numbers End of the navigation path.

  • Define Item ID

The identification number for order items (item ID) identifies each service ordering order throughout the institution. It is used internally and is not visible for the user.

You can find more information on this in Customizing under Start of the navigation path SAP Healthcare - Industry-Specific Component Clinical System Next navigation step Clinical Order Next navigation step Clinical Order Basic Data Next navigation step Define Item ID End of the navigation path.

  • Set Up Order Types for Clinical Order

An order type determines the properties of a service ordering order. You can find information on this under Setup Order Type for Service Ordering.

  • Configure Order Filler Group

To make the selection of order fillers, who perform the services within service ordering, clearer, you can compile the relevant organizational units in an order filler group.

  • Set Up Status Profile for Item Status

In this Customizing activity you define customer-specific item statuses and assign these to a status profile. An item status indicates the current processing state of a service ordering order. You assign a status profile to an order type in the Customizing activity Set Up Order Types for Clinical Order.

In the IMG activity Maintain Tasks for Status Profile you assign tasks and user statuses to this status profile, see Task Management for Service Ordering.

You can find information on the assignment of a status profile to an order type under Start of the navigation path SAP Healthcare - Industry-Specific Component Clinical System Next navigation step Clinical Order Next navigation step Clinical Order Basic Data Next navigation step Set Up Order Types for Clinical Order End of the navigation path.
