Service Range
To specify which services may be provided by each organizational unit choose the menu option. This allows the selection of services to be precisely restricted to a given OU's range of services.
By specifying a time interval the Display Period
field controls the length of time during which a service that has already been performed is to be displayed and considered for follow-up actions in the system beyond case limits.
In Building Unit
a treatment room can be proposed for each service in the range. This is the treatment room for the OU where the service is to be performed. This room proposal is entered in IS-H*MED as a proposal value when you create a movement for this service. If several services and several room proposals result, the first is transferred as the proposal value.
The indicator E
controls service status changes when entering materials consumed or employees involved for services in 'confirmed requested' or 'scheduled' status.
' ': Error message that service status change is not possible. Processing will be canceled.
'1': Service status will automatically be set to performed.
'2': A prompt appears asking whether the service should be set to performed or whether processing should be terminated.
All services in the range must originate from the hospital service catalog.
An OU may only process those services included in its range of services.
When recording services and ordering pre-, post- and intraoperative measures default indicators can be specified in the hit list, in default amounts depending on the service and the documenting OU. This is intended primarily to optimize dialogs and to ensure full service documentation. A carefully selected default indicator can significantly reduce the amount of data entry work required in the case of extensive service groups (with many subordinated services.)
A default indicator for a group service is a subset of the group which can be included in the input dialogs in conjunction with a command and an OU.
The default indicator is defined in connection with the range of services. The following functions are incorporated in the transaction for specifying the range of services:
Perform test/release
Order preoperative test
Order intraoperative test
Order postoperative test
If you select a group service and then choose one of the functions, the service hit list for the group service concerned will appear. Select services on this hit list and choose Save to save selected services as the default selection for this OU (the OU for which the range of services is specified.)
It is also possible to enter a "Standard Service Amount" which is then also included in the dialogs.
In addition, it is possible to test the hit list formed from the range of services, using the "Test Hit List" function. This function, designed to simplify hit list predefinition, makes it possible to re-sort priorities in the range of services, and immediately call up the list to be tested.
Note
The section of this manual on documenting service performance explains how to use the default indicator in the service entry dialogs.
