You can display numerical and alphanumerical vital signs as well as numerical and alphanumerical values from customer-specific data sources in line graphs.

Prerequisites

For Smart Chart to display a line graph, the following conditions must be satisfied:

  • You defined the data to be displayed as chart elements in Customizing and combined it in a chart layout.

  • When you launched Smart Chart you selected a chart layout that also contains the graph for displaying numerical or alphanumerical vital signs, or numerical or alphanumerical values from customer-specific data sources.

  • If you use customer-specific data sources to display values, you have made the necessary settings in the BAdI Connection of Customer-Specific Data Sources. For more information, see Customer-Specific Enhancements.

Features

The system displays vital signs or values from customer-specific data sources as follows:

  • Alphanumerical vital signs or alphanumerical values from customer-specific data sources

    In case of alphanumerical vital signs or alphanumerical values from customer-specific data sources, such as stool values, the line graph displays individual values as an event with the value 1.

    The scale of the line graph is not used. The measuring points, or the bowel movement events, are displayed on a line. An explanatory quick info text is available for each bowel movement or measuring point.

  • Numerical vital signs or numerical values from customer-specific data sources

    In case of numerical vital signs or numerical values from customer-specific data sources, Smart Chart displays these values as measurement points. Each measuring point is represented by the icon selected in Customizing. The line graph links these points with one another. At each measuring point, a quick info text is available for the measurement. If you move the mouse pointer over a measuring point, the system displays information on the value, the entry date/time and the name of the user who entered the value.

Note that the display of numerical and alphanumerical values can be different depending on the reference range and how many measurements are displayed.

You can use line graphs as individual or group graphs:

  • Individual graph

    In an individual graph the system displays values for vital signs or values from customer-specific data sources of one single data source. These can be both numerical and alphanumerical values, such as, for example, Temperature or Stool.

    Note Note

    Note that the displayed values of the vital sign can be specified differently. For example, the Temperature vital sign can be specified as rectal or axillary. You can see the specification of the value in the quick info text of the value concerned.

  • Group graph

    Several individual graphs with the same data source (Vital Signs or Customer-Specific Data Source) can be grouped together in a group graph. For each individual graph the system displays a separate y-axis on the left-hand side of the graph, with the relevant unit of measurement. A group graph can also jointly display two different vital signs as a value pair with a joint y-axis, such as, for example, the Systolic and Diastolic Blood Pressure vital signs.

    Note Note

    If you wish to view a vital sign or value from a customer-specific data source in a group graph, you do not need to change or toggle the chart layout. If you hold the mouse cursor over the legend of the y-axis of a specific vital sign or value from a customer-specific data source, the system filters the display and only displays these. The display of other vital signs or values from customer-specific data sources is suppressed.
