Overlapping in Line Graphs
Smart Chart provides various functions for expanding condensed areas.
Prerequisites
For Smart Chart to display reference icons in line graphs, the following conditions must be satisfied:
You have made the necessary settings for reference ranges in Customizing. For more information, see Creating Line Graphs.
In case of values from customer-specific data sources you have made the necessary settings in the
Connection of Customer-Specific Data Sources
BAdI. For more information, see Customer-Specific Enhancements.
Features
The system overlapping with the 
(<display of values>
) icon.
If you want to see the individual values, you can either expand the graph using the mouse wheel (zoom) or click the icon.
Zooming expands the condensed area. A mouse-click expands the condensed area in an additional window. If it should not be possible to expand values, because they overlap directly, a quick info text is available within this window, which lists all overlapping values.
You can show and hide the display of overlaps using the keyboard shortcut “C”.
Normal Range Violations
Normal range violations are also represented by the overlap icon.

Note that the meaning of the icons of values from customer-specific data sources can differ from the meaning for vital signs, depending on the Customizing settings.
If the overlap contains at least one value that violates the normal range or a value that is associated with a comment or is indicated as dubious, a combination of the overlap icon and a warning appears.
Icon | Description |

| Overlap. At least one value is critical. |
| Overlap. At least one valid is in warning range. |
| Overlap. A comment or "dubious" indication exists for at least one value. |
If the overlap contains values with multiple and different warnings, the system only displays the most serious warning. A red warning is more serious than an orange warning. This, in turn, is more serious than information shown in blue.
