Editing Selection Variants

Use

SAP does not provide standard selection variants. If you have already created selection variants for a view type, you can select an existing selection variant from the value help for the Selection Variant field when creating or changing a view, and assign it to this view.

You can change the selection variant of the current view.

Indicators

When defining selection variants, you can set the following indicators for each selection field:

  • Required Entry Field

  • Hide Field

  • Protect Field

The system also takes these selection variant attributes into account in the dialog boxes for the selection of the individual view types.

Selection Variables

Use “selection variables” for the selection date of a view. This lets you always call the care unit list for the current date, for example.

To use the current time as a selection criterion, enter 00:00:00 as the time in the selection screen.

Procedure

  1. Call the Clinical Work Station.

  2. Position the cursor on or adjacent to the view whose selection variant you wish to edit.

  3. In the context menu, choose Change View .

  4. The following editing options are available to you in the Selection Variant row:

Create Selection Variant

When you create a new selection variant, you automatically access SAP standard selection variant maintenance for the selected view type. For more information about this, see

Delete Selection Variant

You can delete selection variants by using the standard maintenance function for selection variants. In this function, no check is executed for variant management objects. This means that the selection variant will be deleted, although it is used in other views.
