Procedure documentationCalling the Patient Organizer

Procedure

  1. From the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Start of the navigation path Clinical System Next navigation step Patient Organizer End of the navigation path.

You access the initial screen of the patient organizer.

    Note Note

When you call the patient organizer the first time, the system evaluates the user parameter N1PO_TIMESEL, if necessary, and displays the patients’ medical history according to the selection restriction defined there, for example, only for the last 365 days.

To display the entire medical record, choose the pushbutton to update the patient organizer with the quick info text Entire List.

See User Parameters for Patient Organizer/Patient Viewer

    End of the note.
  2. You can call the patient organizer from all i.s.h.med work stations (for example, care unit work station). Select one or more patients and then select Patient Organizer (Patient Organizer).

You can also call the patient organizer for patients with provisional patient master data. You should note that only planned objects can exist for patients with provisional master data, i.e. appointments and clinical orders (with services).

    Note Note

If you have several institutions, the system administrator can determine that the patient organizer will display patient records from all hospitals.

You must have the relevant authorization to call the patient organizer.

    End of the note.

A special mode of the patient organizer is called when you call the following functions in the clinical work station:

    • Horizontal progress display

    • Outpatient Clinic Folder

    • Patient Appointments MED

Depending on the mode, the system will decide which aspect it should initially open. If several aspects are available for the same mode, the system will open the aspect which is at the top of the aspect list (with the highest priority).

    Note Note

Depending on the user parameter N1PO_CASELIST you may first access the case list when calling the patient organizer (transaction N1PATORG).

    End of the note.
  3. The patient organizer appears.

The header data of the case displays the currently selected patient.

If you selected several patients, the system always displays the header data of the patient (case) as the topmost grouping node in the tree display. In the list display, the system structures the displayed objects according to the patient.

The movement data displayed is dependent on the type of movement (admission, outpatient visit, etc.), with which you accessed the patient organizer (context). The movement does not restrict the displayed data.

    Note Note

You can hide the header data of the patient organizer using the menu option Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Header Data for Case On/Off End of the navigation path.

    End of the note.

In the header data of the case, the system will display whether this patient already has risk factors, or that you can create Risk Factors (Risk Factors) using the pushbutton.

  4. When you call the patient organizer, the system will automatically use the aspect which was assigned the highest priority by the system administrator and is therefore at the top of the aspect list.

You choose the desired aspect from the aspect toolbar or the menu toolbar.

The aspect determines the displayed information (requests, documents, etc.) and its structure in the overview of medical objects.

    Note Note

The Case aspect displays all requests, documents, diagnoses, services, movements, surgeries, and procedures structured by case.

    End of the note.

Note that with case-related aspects, the system does not display, for example, documents and outpatient notes that are assigned to a canceled case. With date-related aspects, the system does however display these documents and outpatient notes that are assigned to a canceled case, for example, as a result of case revision.

  5. The medical objects overview is displayed as a tree or a list.

The system displays the patient name, age, and sex.

In the tree display you can user the displayed case or - (-) time nodes (e.g. month) to access detailed information (e.g. discharge summary, diagnoses, medical services), by expanding the relevant node.

    Note Note

You will find all caseless medical objects under the patient-related node.

    End of the note.

The medical objects (e.g. all requests) are summarized in folders in the overview. In addition to the name of the folder, the system displays the number of objects contained in parentheses.

You can show or hide the folder level. Individual medical objects are then displayed independently. The system will "remember" the settings as a user parameter, so that the folders will also be displayed or hidden the next time you call the patient organizer.

In list display the system displays the patients and all medical objects for this patient. When displaying several patients, the list display is only structured by patient, i.e. the patient organizer displays the patients and his objects.

    Note Note

In list display you can structure the list by sorting by date. The structure of the data in the list display corresponds to the structure of a day aspect.

    End of the note.
  6. Click on the selected medical object.

You access the detailed display of the medical object (e.g. Display Request detail screen).

The detailed display is different for each medical object. The system administrator can also choose between various display forms for some medical objects.

    Note Note

If you use health problems, the patient organizer displays the medical objects under the assigned problem nodes.

    See Health Problem

See Creating and Editing Health Problems

    End of the note.
  7. You can execute the following functions for medical objects:

    • Create (Create)

    • Change (Change)

    • Display (Display)

    • Cancel/Delete (Cancel/Delete)

    • Release (Release)

    • Find (Find)

    Note Note

The system will ensure that it is irrelevant whether you create the medical object directly from the clinical work station, or from the patient organizer.

    End of the note.
