Object documentationHealth Problem

A problem comprises all symptoms of a patient which require medical care.

A problem can be, for example, a risk factor or a syndrome. Problems are available in catalog form. These catalogs can be managed customer-specifically or standardized (e.g. ICPC2 from WONCA).

Note Note

Unlike a case, which has a billing-technical background, the medical aspect of problems is in the foreground.

End of the note.

You can use the health problem to structure the medical record. It provides the reason for the patient’s visit to an outpatient center or a hospital. Under the problem you can comprise all visits, treatment, outpatient notes, etc. his means you assign the individual objects, e.g. visits, to one or more problems.

You can document the following objects as problem-specific:

  • Movements (visits)

  • Appointments

  • Medication orders

  • Clinical orders

  • Outpatient notes

  • Documents

Integration

The assignment of the entered objects such as visits, treatments, etc. to a problem, is available in the patient organizer and in SAP Ambulatory Care Management.

You can enter a new problem in the following functions:

Example

A patient suffers from strong headaches. These headaches represent the patient’s problem. You can assign all objects, such as visits, examinations, or treatments to the ”headaches“ problem. It is then clear which objects belong to which of the patient's problems.
