Outstanding Patient Items
When a patient is discharged or sent home after an outpatient visit to the hospital, you can use the Outstanding Patient Items
overview to list and close all services which are not completely documented.
You can call this overview from the views of the clinical work station using Outstanding Patient Items
. You can also call the Outstanding Patient Items in the patient organizer/patient viewer.
This function should be used primarily for medically relevant objects, in order to prepare the patient for administrative discharge. For this reason this function has not been incorporated into the discharge transaction in SAP Patient Management (IS-H), but is a stand-alone function in the clinical system (i.s.h.med) patient and service overviews. You can call the discharge function from the overview of outstanding patient items.
The overview of outstanding patient items is displayed as a tree structure. The first level of the tree structure is divided into two points Not Yet Complete
and Planned
. On the second level there are nodes for diagnoses, services, documents transport orders, appointments and visits. Each of these nodes contains the individual corresponding objects.
The starting point for this overview concerning a patient is a case and a target date for discharge. This target date of discharge is queried every time this function is called. This date is preset with the system date.
Note
Two different organizational unit-related (OU) parameters are used to control the displayed discharge date.
See OU Parameters Outstanding Patient Items
The discharge date is used in the worklists to differentiate bweteen:
Not Yet Complete
All objects (documents, services, etc.) with a date before the target discharge date. Services which have not yet been released can be found under this heading.
Documents that have not yet been completed (released) by this target time are displayed under the Documents
node. This can be particularly helpful for the findings report for the family physician.
Planned
All treatments which are in the future, i.e. after the target discharge date. Post-discharge radiological examinations or visits which are planned, are listed here. This serves mainly as an overview of the course of the patient's further treatment.
