Function documentationMaterial Entry Without MM Integration

You can enter consumed material for nursing or medical services using material consumption documentation. You can only execute material entry for services whose status corresponds to Performed or Confirmed.

Activities

  1. You select the material entry from one of the following work stations of the clinical system.

    • In the clinical work station, you select the Consumed Materials function or you use the hotspot of the Consumed Material column in views of the Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility or Medication Events/Inpatient Nursing Services view type.

    • As part of service entry and subsequent service entry you select the Cons. Material function.

    • In the surgery monitor, you use the Material Entry for main surgeries or secondary surgeries or for anesthesia anchor services.

    • If the Material Documentation Required indicator is set on the Med. Indicators tab page in the service master of a radiological service, the system will start the mateiral entry for the Perform Service or Release Service functions.

If you call the material entry using one of the above work stations, you will access the Consumed Material screen. If you call the material for a service for the first time, you will see in the screen the material which was defined as the Material Proposal for the service.

  2. You enter the material consumed. If the system displays a material proposal, you can change the material proposal.

    • You can change the amount of the material.

    • You can delete rows with material.

    • You can enter extra rows with material.

  3. You save the material entered.

    Caution Caution

You must save your entries on the Consumed Material screen. Even if a material proposal exists for a service, the Consumed Material screen has to be called and the material consumption must be saved explicitly.

    End of the caution.
Ending Material Entry

You exit material entry in service facilities by the releasing the services. For the surgery area, the material is linked to the OR anchor service of the main surgery which is not released. You can find more information about the special features of the material entry in the OR area under Material Entry in OR.

Note Note

The institution-related, time-independent parameter N1QUTIME controls up to which point in time material entry is possible for a released service. If parameter N1QUTIME has the value 0, changes to the entered material for a released service is not possible.

End of the note.
