For many services users require specific quantities of certain materials. You can store this material as a material proposal for the services. During material entry the system calls the material proposal and displays this to the user. The user can change the proposal according the material used.

Procedure

Define Assignment Type for Material Proposal

If you wish to assign a material to a service as a material proposal, you must first define an assignment type.

You define the assignment type in the Implementation Guide under Start of the navigation path SAP Healthcare – Industry-Specific Components for Hospitals Next navigation step Hospital Basic Data Next navigation step Service Master Data Next navigation step Define Assignment Types End of the navigation path. The assignment type for the material proposal needs the M indicator for material proposal.

Store the assignment type in the institution-related, time-dependent system parameter N1MATYP.

Create Material Proposal

  1. From the SAP Easy Access screen you select Start of the navigation path Clinical System Next navigation step Basic Clinical Data Next navigation step Service Management Next navigation step Clinical Service Master Next navigation step MM Material Proposal Next navigation step Maintain End of the navigation path..

  2. Enter the required data. In the Assignment Type field you enter the assignment type from system parameter N1MATYP.

  3. Choose Maintain (Maintain).

    The Maintain Material Proposal: Data Screen appears..

  4. A material proposal consists of one or more materials. Enter the required data for each material.

  5. Save the entries.

    Note Note

    In Surgery, we recommend that you create the material proposal for the surgery anchor service. The material proposal of the surgery anchor service is also used as the material proposal for all services which are attached to the surgery anchor service. If a material proposal is entered for a service, the system displays the material proposal for the service and the material proposal for the surgery anchor service.
