Coding Analyses View Type
The Coding Analyses
view type is available to you in the Clinical Work Station. Due to the addition of this view type, the Clinical Work Station can now be configured for optimum use by a coding director within care unit management.
The aim of the Coding Analyses
view types is to generate case lists in the Clinical Work Station based on predefined selections. These lists may refer to missing documentation (e.g. missing admission or discharge diagnosis), particular case properties (e.g. length of stay, number of diagnoses) or standard questions in connection with Diagnosis Related Groups. You can vary these standard evaluations using individual parameters on the selection screen.
As worklists, these generated case lists form the basis for post processing and controlling, in particular diagnosis documentation, but also other primary documentation areas, for example, findings.
Selection criteria include diagnoses, movements, services, or procedures and billing results in the DRG context.
When configuring or changing the selection for the view, you can enter the following values, or set indicators:
In the Case Selection
group, you can specify which department or care unit you want to observe. You also enter the date of the analysis and, if required, a planning period for arrivals and a history period for departures.
The Discharged from Department
indicator enables you to stipulate that the system is only to display discharges from the department you specified in the case selection.
The Healthy Newborns
indicator enables you to include these cases in the case selection.
You can also select cases by their case type, the status of the basic medical documentation, and the billing status.
Based on this superset, you can combine the criteria on the Diagnoses
, Srg/Procedures
, DRGs
, and Other
tab pages entirely as you wish.
You should only use the following indicators on the Other
tab page if your institution bills for DRGs according to KFPV (Germany):
Min. LOS Shortfall
indicator (low trim point for a DRG service)
If you set this indicator, the system includes the case in the worklist of the output list if the length of stay falls short of the minimum length of stay for a DRG service.
Max. LOS Overrun
indicator (high trim point for a DRG service)
If you set this indicator, the system includes the case in the worklist of the output list if the length of stay exceeds the maximum length of stay fort he DRG service.
Discount for Transfers
indicator (falls short of average length of stay for a DRG service)
Discounts for transfers are taken into account for a case, when the transfer in question is from or into an external hospital. If you select this indicator, the system includes the case in the worklist if the length of stay falls short of the average length of stay for a DRG service.
Caution
The selection options in the Select Cases
group box are linked by the logical operator AND.
The selection options on DRGs
and Other
tab pages are linked with the logical operator OR.
The system then lists the cases that match at least one of the specified criteria. This means you only need to specify a few parameters
to create very specific views which satisfy more substantial questions (special views),
And general views (control views) that check several issues in a single work step and thus lend themselves more to the final check.
Note
Note that the case-related diagnosis information is output only if the user has display authorization for the determined diagnosis.
Each view type offers a certain set of functions (function selection). The scope of functions is predefined by SAP. You get an overview of the function selection for the Coding Analyses
view type when you create or change a function variant.
The Coding Analyses
view type makes available functions from the patient, case, movement and environment areas. If you use i.s.h.med, you can also use the functions described under Functions from Clinical System i.s.h.med.
The functions are listed under Functions in Coding Analyses View Type.
A specific field selection is available to you for each view type. Layouts enable you to define your own column sequence and sort order in relation to this field selection.
The Coding Analyses
field selection contains in excess of 160 fields from the Patient Data, DRG Data, Diagnoses, Movement Data areas; if you use i.s.h.med, an additional 40 fields are available.
You can display the complete field selection for the respective view type when you create layouts.
