Function documentationService-Based Appointment Search

 

You use the service-based appointment search if you wish to find appointments for services without explicitly specifying scheduling types.

You can use the service-based appointment search as follows:

  • When creating a clinical order

    You can use the service-based appointment search if you wish to plan the services to be ordered at the same time as creating a clinical order.

  • For services already ordered

    You can call the service-based appointment search using the function Find Appointment e.g. from the Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility view type in the clinical work station, or Find MED Appointment, if you have already ordered services from a treatment facility using a clinical order.

The procedure in the service-based appointment search is the same as the appointment procedure. See Find MED Appointment

Note Note

You should note that provisional services are not supported in i.s.h.med functions like in the service-based appointment search using visit scheduling (transaction NR16). In i.s.h.med, all ordered services must be linked with a clinical order. If you still wish to use visit scheduling (NR16) for the service-based appointment search, you must implement a business add-in (BAdI).

This function is available to you if you have activated the business function Clinical System Situation-Based Clinical Documentation (ISHMED_SCD).

You can use the organizational unit-related parameter (OU parameter) N1SRVAPP to control, whether the system should call the appointment search as service-based. See More OU-Related Parameters

You can use this OU parameter to call the service-based appointment search as follows:

  • If you select a service and then call the Find Appointment or Find MED Appointment function, you access the standard appointment search.

  • If you select several services and then call the Find Appointment or Find MED Appointment function, you access the enhanced appointment search.

  • If you call the Find Appointment function, e.g. from the Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility view type without a service context, the system will display the appointment search based on the scheduling type (standard appointments) regardless of the appointment search.

All additional fields of the service-based appointment search, for example, Access Type can be used as search criteria. Additionally, the priority class is also available, in which you can maintain for a time slot in Customizing for Planning, in the appointment template of the clinical order. This enables you to set a default value for the priority class in the appointment search. See Create/Change Appointment Templates for Order Items

Note Note

If an order item has several services and you search for service-based appointments for these services, the system will not preset the duration from the appointment template. This is also the case if you search for an appointment for only one service in a planning step.

If, however, an order item only has one service, the system will also take into account the duration in the appointment template during the service-based appointment search.

The system only calls the service-based appointment search for surgeries if only one service is ordered in the clinical order. If you order more than one service, the system will not call the service-based appointment search. You must always connect surgery services with the same appointment.

The service-based appointment search is not available in the collective mode of the clinical order for several orders.

The system presets the duration for which an appointment should be found in the search dialog for each individual service:

  1. The system presets the total duration (sum of preparation time and clean-up time and the treatment duration) from the Med. Indicators tab page in the service master data.

  2. If these durations are not maintained, the system presets the duration with the value which is specified in the Service-Based Appointment Search group box on the Other tab page.

  3. If this duration has not been defined either, the system presets the value for the duration from the appointment template of the clinical order. See Create/Change Appointment Templates for Order Items
