Function documentationEvent Management for Tasks

Event processing in Clinical Task Management is available in the Ward (INPA) and Surgery (SURG) work areas. The function increases the comfort for users who work with the documentation work station. The status of tasks often constitutes important information for other processors.

The new function saves users from having to also set the Completed status for specific tasks if they have already indicated the completion of their documentation using an appropriate status in the application

Integration

Event management for tasks is part of i.s.h.med event management. Additionally, it is integrated into the base item framework. This has been enhanced by event configuration. It is also related to the applications that are connected with tasks via base items. It uses i.s.h.med events of these applications that are defined as complete event with regard to tasks in the application.

Applications for which at least one complete event is defined:

  • Medical Documents

  • Progress Entries

  • Assign Situation Base Item Type

Prerequisites

An event configuration must be selected or defined in the base item. A unique complete event is defined here.

The synchronous processing of i.s.h.med events does not work in the following cases:

Cause

Asynchronous Attempt Yes/No

Docu WS of type INPA or SURG is not running

Yes

Task is not available in the Task Lists component

Yes

Task is locked by another user

Yes

Situation is locked by another user and the task is the last task in the situation and the Close Automatically option is selected in the situation template.

Yes

User has not authorization for Complete Task

No

Situation is already closed

No

Task has status "Canceled" or "Completed"

No

Features

If a user triggers the Complete event defined in the base item, the system sets the status of the task connected with the base item to Completed.

When processing in the documentation work station, the system immediately executes this processing step.

If processing is being carried out elsewhere in the system and asynchronous processing of i.s.h.med events is configured in customizing, processing is performed at the defined times.

Activities

Perform the following Customizing activities: Activate asynchronous processing of events under Start of the navigation path Clinical System Next navigation step Industry-Specific Component Clinical System Next navigation step Cross-Application Settings Next navigation step Activate/Deactivate Asynchronous Processing of Events End of the navigation path.

Set the Task Management Active indicator under Start of the navigation path Clinical System Next navigation step SAP Healthcare – Industry-Specific Component Clinical System Next navigation step Cross-Application Settings Next navigation step Task Management Next navigation step Activate Event Management for Tasks End of the navigation path.

Schedule asynchronous event processing for tasks under Start of the navigation path Clinical System - Next navigation step SAP Healthcare – Industry-Specific Component Clinical System - Next navigation step Cross-Application Settings Next navigation step Task Management Next navigation step Schedule Asynchronous Event Processing for Tasks End of the navigation path.

Create base items for which a Complete event is defined.

Connect these base items with tasks.
