Procedure documentationChanging to Administration/Dispensing/Print Prescription

You use these functions to change the purpose of an order. Dependent on the order status the system creates a subsequent order.

Note Note

The system presets the end of validity of the subsequent order with the end of validity of the original order and sets the end of validity of the original order and the start of validity of the subsequent order to the current system time.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

The order has the internal status saved, active or suspended and the target purpose is different from the original purpose of the order.

Note Note

To use the function to change the administration route for orders that no longer have the saved status in the order detail dialog, add the relevant function to the function variant of the order detail dialog. For more information, see Calling Configuration of Function Variants in Medication Order.

End of the note.

Procedure

Perform the following steps to change the administration route of one or several orders:

  1. Select one or more orders in the order dialog or in a view of the Medication Orders view type in the clinical work station.

    Note Note

In the order detail dialog, you can change only the order that is displayed.

    End of the note.
  2. Choose one of the following functions:

    • Change to Administration Administration (Change to Administration)

    • Change to Dispensing Dispensing (Change to Dispensing)

    • Change to Print Prescription Print Prescription (Change to Print Prescription)

    Note Note

For orders with the internal status saved, you can alternatively use the radio buttons in the Purpose group box of the order detail dialog.

    End of the note.
  3. If the drug in the order cannot be used for the new purpose, you will access the Select Alternatives dialog box.

For more information, see Propose Alternatives

The system displays all drugs which satisfy the substitution rules and that you can use for the chosen purpose according to the information in the drug catalog.

    Note Note

If the drug in the order is also suitable for the new purpose and you have set the Skip Alternative Dialog indicator in the user-specific presettings, the system transfers the original drug without user input.

For more information, see Order Management Tab Page.

    End of the note.

Result

If the order already has the internal status active or suspended, the system creates a subsequent order.

If the order has the internal status saved, the sysem only changes the existing order.

Note Note

If events have already been generated for the original order, the system automatically calls event generation for the subsequent order.

End of the note.

Example

During discharge, you wish to convert an order with the Administration purpose into an order for printing a prescription.

Select the required order and choose Change to Print Prescription Print Prescription (Change to Print Prescription). If necessary, select the desired drug in the Select Alternatives dialog box.

The system creates a subsequent order with the selected drug and the Print Prescription purpose.
