Procedure documentationCreating Mixed Drugs

You can manually create mixed drugs (e.g., infusions, compounds, drug kits, etc.) for an internal drug catalog.

You can also integrate these mixed drugs in a drug hierarchy during creation.

Prerequisites

You have executed the configuration functions in the Drug Catalog node in the Implementation Guide.

Procedure

  1. In the Catalog group box on the drug management selection screen (initial screen) enter an internal drug catalog.

If you have set the user parameter N1ME_CAT, the system presets the internal drug catalog.

  2. Choose Create Mixed Drug Mixed Drug (Create Mixed Drug).

The Create Mixed Drug dialog box appears.

  3. Enter the data as required, and then choose Transfer (Transfer).

The system presets the drug catalog from the selection screen.

The possible options for the drug level depend on the definition of drug levels for the drug catalog.

    See Drug Level

    Note Note

In the input help for drug category the system only offers drug categories for mixed drugs.

You should note that the mnemonic (drug name) must be unique within an institution.

    The Drug Management screen appears.

    End of the note.
  4. You enter the necessary data on the corresponding tab pages.

The system presets the data entered in the Create Mixed Drug dialog box (e.g. drug name, etc.).

    Note Note

For mixed drugs the Ingredients tab page is available where you can enter the ingredients or drugs of a drug kit. See Ingredients Tab Page

Note that the Presentation tab page is not available for mixed drugs.

You should note that, on the Agents tab page, the system determines the agents using the ingredients entered for the drug.

    See Agents Tab Page

    End of the note.
  5. Save the drug.

Select the Activate pushbutton with the quick info text Activate to make the drug available for further use within the medication module.
