Ingredients Tab Page
On the Ingredients
tab page you can enter and manage ingredients or drugs of a drug kit and general dosage information of drugs which contains ingredients.
Note
This tab page is not available for standard drugs. You can only manage information concerning ingredients of mixed drugs (infusions, compounds, drug kits, etc.).
The system uses the ingredients entered here to determine and calculate the agents of these mixed drugs and transfers the determined agents into the Agents
tab page.
See Agents Tab Page
The information content of this tab page depends on the drug category (infusion, compound, drug kit, etc.).
You enter and manage the necessary information for, for example, infusions, compounds, nutritional solutions and drug kits in the following group boxes and the following entry table:
Presentation
group box
In the Presentation
group box you can determine, for example, the value of the reference dose and its unit (e.g. 2 tablets, 1 ampoule, 10 ml, etc.).
You can also manage information concerning an alternative reference dose or the package size of a drug.
Note
Note that the strength of a drug results from the agents contained.
For compounds and drug kits you can only specify the administration duration for drugs which have a dosage form which determines, in customizing in the implementation guide, that an administration duration is usually required in the medication order. In case of infusions and nutritional solutions you can enter the administration duration regardless of the dosage form. The system will preset the administration duration determined in the drug master data in the medication order.
The option of entering a number of individual packages of an overall package depends on the drug level at which you created or imported the drug.
See Drug Level
Control
group box
In the Control
group box you can determine, for example, the value of the standard single dose and information concerning whether a drug can be divided. You can also determine whether a drug can be precisely dosed.
Ingredients
entry table
In the Ingredients
entry table you can enter the ingredients of a mixed drug, by determining the ingredient mnemonic and, for example, the ingredient type, quantity, etc. for this ingredient.
The drug search is available as input help for the Mnemonic
field. You should note that the drug search only displays drugs which have already been saved. However, you can manually enter the mnemonic of drugs which have not yet been saved in the entry table.
Note
Note that you can only assign drugs of the same or a subordinate level as ingredients to a drug or drug of a drug kit.
The system will also check whether the ingredient or drug kit drug or a drug which is subordinate to the ingredient or drug kit drug, can be used for the same purpose as the mixed drug.
Choose
(Choose Layout
) or Change Layout
, to adapt the layout of the entry table so that all necessary information on the ingredients can be entered, changed or displayed.
Caution
If the drug is premade (Preparation
value has corresponding value) you cannot define the ingredients using the patient’s weight or BSA.
You enter and manage the necessary information for drug kits in the Drugs
entry table. In this entry table you can enter and manage drugs which make up the drug kit. For example, you can also enter the number of single packages for a drug of a drug kit if, for example, several ampoules of a drug are the contents of a drug kit.
Note
The Presentation and Control group boxes are not available for drug kits, as this data is managed in the corresponding drug (ingredients) which is part of this drug kit.
On the Ingredients
tab page, for example, you cannot edit the package size for the ingredients. The system displays the package size as information in the Drugs entry table, however.
If you enter a drug as an ingredient of a drug kit, the system will assign the "drug of drug kit" ingredient type to this drug in the entry table as standard.
Caution
You can only assign a drug of a drug kit to exactly one drug kit.
