Ending Orders
You use this function to immediately end medication orders before the end of their validity or to bring a planned end time forward. You extend the validity of an order using the Change Order Status
function.
The system sets the orders to the internal status Ended
and cancels the future medication events which have not yet been administered, dispensed, or a prescription printed.
The system does not cancel the events in the past, regardless of whether they have already been administered, dispensed or a prescription printed. If the administering employee tries to document an event in the past, the system displays information stating that the order has already been ended. The administering employee can decide whether he still wishes to document the event. The same applies if the pharmacist wishes to document the preparation of the drug for an event in the past.

This function is available in views of the Medication Orders View Type in the clinical work station.
Note
You can also determine a future date for the suspension. In this case the system will create an order activity. By scheduling the report RN1ME_OAPROC
as a job, you can execute this order activity and therefore set the status of the order to Ended
at the planned time.
In a view of the Medication Orders
view type in the clinical work station, select one or more orders and choose
(End Order
).
Alternatively you can call this function in the order dialog.
You access the dialog box for entering the time for ending the order.
Enter an end reason and an employee responsible and choose
(Continue
) to end the orders.
The system will preset the end reason using the medication order base item in the documentation work station or the user-specific presettings.
