Reporting

Purpose

Once your consolidation tasks are complete, you run reports to evaluate the data. You can also create reports on the progress of task processing in the consolidation monitor.

Features

In the consolidation system (SEM‑BCS) you can generate reports in different ways:

  • Business reports

You generate business reports using SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (BI) queries that are based on a virtual InfoProvider or a MultiProvider (see Reporting with BI Queries ).

  • Technical reports

You can generate technical reports and lists either with database lists in the analysis section of the Consolidation Workbench, or with BI queries that are based on the standard InfoCubes (BasicCubes) for consolidation (see Technical Reports ).

  • Financial statements

You can create and publish individual statements and consolidated statements in XBRL format. XBRL supports different accounting principles (GAAPs) and different publishing mediums (see Reporting with XBRL ).

  • You can use the restatement function to make retroactive adjustments arising from a (voluntary) change in financial reporting or to correct errors in financial reports already published. The actual consolidation data remains unchanged (see Restatement ).

  • Status reporting can provide an aggregated view of the progress of task processing and task group processing in the consolidation monitor. You can then display this data in diagram form, for instance, as pie charts (see Status Reporting ).

You can set up different authorizations for reporting for people who work with the consolidation system.
