Use of Personnel & Organization with Concurrent Employment
If you use concurrent employment in Personnel & Organization, note the following:
Switching between similar employees
When concurrent employment is active, the system displays the external person ID (object type CP
) and below this, the IDs of the personnel assignments (object type P
) in a dropdown list. This is displayed in the master data application, below the employee photo in the short profile on the object profile page. For more information about activating concurrent employment, see Customizing for .
Additional personnel assignments
You can create an additional personnel assignment for an existing employee. This means that a new personnel number is created and assigned to the existing external person ID (object type CP
). As for all customer-specific processes, you then need to add this assignment to the action menu of your user role, as described in the Customizing activity for . Additional personnel assignments are processed in the process for HCM Processes and Forms. SAP delivers the sample process HRPAO_XX_ADD_ASSIGNMENT
(Further Assignment). Processes for additional personnel assignments must be configured using the With Start Object
attribute in the design time for HCM Processes and Forms.
Employee recognition
The Employee Recognition
dialog box supports users in deciding whether a new hire, a rehire, or an additional personnel assignment applies for a new employee. You define the permitted processes and controls in the Customizing activity for .
Infotypes
The infotypes Main Personnel Assignment (infotype 0712) and Person ID (infotype 0709) are relevant for concurrent employment. Both infotypes are available to be used as UI configurations in the master data application. You need to assign them to the action menu of the corresponding user role in the Customizing activity for .
Searching by person ID
If you want to allow users to search for employees based on the Person ID
field, you need to add this field to the search category configuration in the Customizing activity for . You can add this field as either a search field or a results field.
