Definition

The frequency (in seconds) of ping operations sent to the Core Database system

Description and Use

This system parameter defines the frequency (in seconds) of "ping" operations that are sent to the SAP CC Core Database system. After 2 failed ping operations, the instance is considered as down. When database connections are down, ping operations are used to reconnect automatically to the Core Database system.

To enable ping operations on the Core Database system, set a value that is greater than 30 seconds.

To disable ping operations on Core Database, set the value to 0.

You can use a default value to reset the runtime value or the restart value (persistent) in the Admin+ user interface.

Note

A default value is part of the factory settings of the SAP CC Core Server systems. It differs from the original value set during the installation or after the Customizing activities.

In Admin+, you can reset a parameter value to this default value, but it is not recommended:

Note that it may also differ from the value defined by the implementation project team and set during the Implementation Phase of the integration project.
