Parameter: CONTRACT_PACKING_ENABLED

Definition

The enablement or disablement of the packing of provider contracts in customer master data

Description and Use

This system parameter enables or disables the data packing function of provider contracts in customer master data.

If you set up this parameter to true, you allow the packing of provider contracts. The packing of provider contracts consists in removing useless revisions of the provider contracts from the back-end database. The SAP CC system applies this function when you modify a provider contract. It is applied only once to a provider contract. If you modify the contract once again, the function does nothing to this contract.

Notes

  • The column TECHNICAL_STATUS in the table CACO of the database indicates if a provider contract has been packed.
  • Do not set the parameter CONTRACT_PACKING_ENABLED to true if the version of the first SAP CC system you installed was greater than SAP CC 4.0 SP08. The provider contracts are packed as soon as they are modified. In that case, the packing procedure is useless.

Syntax and Constraints

The possible values are:

  • true: The packing function is applied to provider contracts.
  • false: The packing function is not applied to provider contracts.

A default value is part of the factory settings of the SAP CC Core Server systems. It differs from the original value set during the installation or after the Customizing activities.

In Admin+, you can reset a parameter value to this default value, but it is not recommended:

  • This value may differ from the original value set during the installation of your SAP CC system.
  • Note that it may also differ from the value defined by the implementation project team and set during the Implementation Phase of the integration project.
Verify the values in your running SAP CC systems before to use the reset command.
