This system parameter specifies the modification count (when a bulk modification API is used) until which the modification can be canceled. Indeed, the bulk modification APIs implements a way to cancel/stop the operation before its complete execution.
This parameter defines the limit up to which the operation can be canceled (all database updates are rolled back). When this modification count limit is passed, it is no longer possible to cancel, but the operation can be stopped: previous database modifications are already committed but the operation can be stopped.
