Assignment Objects

Using the definition of assignment objects in the budget structure you can define on which level the assignments are to be checked against the budget. The definition of assignment objects only makes sense if the assignment level is meant to be above the budget level.

SAP does not recommend using assignment objects because the volume of administration work created can be very large.

What should you pay attention to when defining assignment objects?
  • Each assignable element must have an assignment object on the way up in the hierarchy.

  • Each assignable element may have only one assignment object on the way up in the hierarchy.

  • If you have also defined budget objects in the budget structure, assignment object may only be on budget objects.

What do you have to do after defining assignment objects?
  1. You must check whether the definitio n was performed correctly.

  2. You must then start the program Reconstructing Assigned Values .

    If you receive error messages regarding missing assignment objects, you must enhance the missing assignment objects and subsequently restart Reconstructing assigned values.
