Assignment Objects Without Budget Objects

The example above shows how to properly define assignment objects within your budget hierarchy or individual subhierarchies.

The arrows show how during posting the system finds the assignment level on its way up in a hierarchy.

Starting from the lowest level, assignable elements may have only one assignment object on the way up. If there is no assignment object defined in a funds center of a subhierarchy, the search will be performed in 2 steps:

  1. Within the funds center the higher commitment item in each case up to the top commitment item.

  2. In the funds center hierarchy, the next higher funds center in combination with the top commitment item.

Based on this procedure, the assignment object in the superior funds center must be defined for the top commitment item.

There may be no assignment object defined in the top commitment item of the next higher funds center, otherwise 2 assignment object would be in the hierarchy on the way up
