Request

Definition

Requests are internal instructions created by TRM that are subsequently converted into tasks. Requests are based on reference documents such as transfer orders and groups.

Use

Request Management submits requests to Task Management , which translates the movement or operation information in the requests into tasks. The tasks can then be submitted to resources for execution.

Note Note

For more information on the relationship between requests and tasks, see Task .

End of the note.

Structure

The request consists of the following:

  • A request header with general information

  • One or more request items with source, destination and handling unit information

Request Header

The request header contains general request information, including:

  • Reference to the document

  • Host priority, which is used to define the sequence in which requests are released

  • Due date

  • The confirmation level, which determines if the confirmation must be carried out at request or request item level

Request Items Items

A request can have one or more items. The number of items in the request depends on the number of items in the underlying reference document.
