Vehicle Type

Definition

A vehicle type is a group of attributes used to define the vehicle. The vehicle type can define the mode of transportation and which units of measure are used for volume and weight. The vehicle type is entered in the initial screen when creating vehicle master data.

Vehicle types are defined in Customizing for IS Oil & Gas (Downstream) by choosing Start of the navigation path TD (Transportation and Distribution) Next navigation step TD Master Data Next navigation step Define vehicle types End of the navigation path .

Structure

The following attributes can be defined for a vehicle type:

Mode of Transport

  • Road

  • Rail

  • Marine

  • Barge

  • Pipeline

Vehicle Type Text

The vehicle type text is a short text describing the vehicle.

Volume Unit of Measure

The volume unit of measure is the default volume unit of measure for the vehicle, which may be changed when you create the vehicle.

Weight Unit of Measure

The default weight unit of measure for the vehicle, which may be changed during the transaction to create a vehicle.
