Creating a Transport Unit

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Sales and Next navigation step Distribution Next navigation step Bulk transportation Next navigation step Master data Next navigation step Transport unit Next navigation step Create End of the navigation path . The Create Transport Unit: Initial screen appears.

  2. Enter the transport unit type , and choose and choose ENTER . This takes you to the detail screen for creating a transport unit.

Note Note

The system automatically provides a number for the transport unit if you leave the transport unit field blank on the initial screen.

You can create a new transport unit using master data from a transport unit which already exists, by entering the number of the existing transport unit in the Transport unit field of the Copy from... area of the screen. The system copies the data from the transport unit which already exists. You can change the proposed data while creating the new transport unit.

  1. Enter the transport unit attributes on the detail screen.

Certain attributes of the transport unit, which are determined when you choose the transport unit type, are displayed and cannot be changed. They are:

  • Type of transport unit (for example, tractor, trailer)

  • Mode of transport (for example, road transport, rail transport)

  1. Save the transport unit.
