Post This function enables you to post waste quantities from
Waste Management
to
inventory management
in the SAP
Materials Management
component and, if required, to
Warehouse Management
(
Warehouse Management System
) in the SAP
Logistics Execution
component.
You can use certain functions in
inventory management
and
Warehouse Management
for the waste quantities posted. In
inventory management
you can, for example:
Store stock in different storage locations
Make an inventory
Use different stock types
For more information, see the Inventory Management and Warehouse Management System sections.
Caution
Postings, for example stock transfers, that you carry out directly in
inventory management
or
Warehouse Management
after you have posted a waste are not passed on to
Waste M
anagement.
Postings of this type are therefore not taken into account in
Waste M
anagement
either. This means that errors may occur when you want to make additional postings from
Waste M
anagement
.
If, for example, you post a waste from
Waste Management
to a storage bin in
Warehouse Management
and then transfer the waste using the functions in this SAP component, an error message is displayed when you want to clear the waste from
Waste Management
. The system then attempts to clear the waste from the original storage bin, which is no longer possible. You can therefore only carry out the corresponding postings using the functions in
Waste Management
.
Note
You can transfer stock in
inventory management
and
Warehouse Management
fromWaste Management
using the
post change
or
storage bin transfer
function.
You have processed the IMG activity
Set Inventory Management in Waste Management
in Customizing for
Waste Management
and specified the required movement types
.
In the material master for the wastes, you have entered the required data for the organizational units (
plant
and
storage location, for example) to which data is to be posted. You must have created at least the
General Plant Data / Storage 1
view for the organizational units, for example, and also the
Warehouse Management 1
view for posting data to
Warehouse Management
.
In order for you to be able to post waste quantities to
inventory management
, you must have created
entry documents
for the waste quantities. These entry documents must contain at least the following data:
Waste generator
Waste quantity and unit of measure
Storage location and plant for disposal processing (corresponds to the plant for the storage location)
Note
If you do
not
want to post the waste quantity to a storage bin in
Warehouse Management
at the same time, you
cannot
assign a warehouse number to the storage location in the IMG activity
Assign Warehouse Number to Plant/Storage Location
in Customizing for
Enterprise Structure
.
In order for you also to be able to post waste quantities to
Warehouse Management
, the entry documents must additionally contain the following data:
In addition, the waste for the storage type must be created and the warehouse number must be assigned to the storage location under
Assign Warehouse Number to Plant/Storage Location
in Customizing for
Enterprise Structure
.
The following postings are carried out and documents are created for each selected entry document:
The waste quantity is posted to
inventory management
in accordance with the data in the entry document (stock type, plant, storage location); a
material document
is created.
If you have specified the warehouse number, storage type, and storage bin in the entry document, data is posted to the specified storage bin in
Warehouse Management
.
A
quantis created or the quantity of a suitable existing quant is increased. Data is posted directly to the specified storage bin; no
transfer requirementor
transfer orderis created. Nor does the system check whether the storage bin can take the waste. For more information, see the
Warehouse Management
component, for example
The Quant and Stock Management in WM
or
Warehouse Structure in the Warehouse Management System
.
Note
If you want a transfer requirement and transfer order to be created and checks to be run for the storage bin, you must specify a function module for the function
Post
that carries out these operations when data is posted. You specify the function module under
Specify Functions
in Customizing forWaste Management
.
A follow-on document record is created (see Automatic Creation of Follow-On Document Records ) .
The entry documents are given a defined status that depends on the settings you made in Customizing. They must have a particular status so that you can execute this function. For more information, see Setting Entry Document Statuses .
Proceed as follows to post the waste quantities of one or more entry documents:
Choose in the Waste Management menu .
The
Choose Entry Document Category
dialog box appears.
Note
This dialog box only appears the first time you access
disposal processing
after you have logged on to the SAP System. The next time you access
disposal processing
, the system automatically uses the entry document category that you chose last time.
If you mainly display and edit entry documents of one entry document category, you can predefine this entry document category in your user profile.
Choose the entry document category of the entry documents that you want to post and confirm your entry.
The
Disposal Processing Change
screen appears.
Enter the search criteria for the entry documents (see
Searching for Entry Documents
), and choose
with the quick info
Hit List
.
The entry documents that correspond to the search criteria are displayed under
Doc. overview
.
Select the entry documents and choose

.
The waste quantities are posted.
