Administrating Across Rooms

Use

In addition to the administration tasks within rooms, as a power user, you can also perform administration tasks across rooms. These administration tasks include monitoring the room life cycle, for example, locking and deleting rooms.

You can also perform administration tasks across rooms without having to collaborate on the content in a room. For example, if you create a room, you are automatically the room owner and can also manage the room from outside of it.

However, you can also use the cross-room administration functions to change the room owner and enter another room member, who also works on the content in the room, as the room owner.

Prerequisites

Your user is assigned to the portal role that gives you permission to create and manage rooms.

The following prerequisite must also be met for you to be able to perform administration tasks across rooms:

  • You must be room administrator in at least one room, that is, in one room the administration role is assigned to your user and/or:
  • You are the room owner in at least one room.

When you create a room, you are automatically the room owner and are also assigned the administration role in the room automatically. The room owner and room administrator do not have to be the same person. If you have been assigned the administration role initially during room creation, you can also transfer this role to another room member.

In cross-room administration of room, the same functions are available for the room owner and the room administrator.

In addition, the room administrator has permission to perform administration tasks from within rooms. For more information, see Changing and Modifying Rooms .
