Gate Service

After using the Self-Scanning Clients on their own devices (BYOD), shoppers can complete their shopping trip by exiting the store via Gate Service. The Gate Service serves as its backend, storing and managing exit codes generated during transaction finalization.

Components that finalize transactions after payment can generate a unique checkout code and register it with Gate Service. These codes are printed on receipts or displayed as QR codes on the BYOD screen. The code is validated against Gate Service. The service also tracks whether a code has already been used.
