Country-Specific Functions for Hong Kong
You use this function as an enhancement to the standard Archiving and Destruction of Data in Human Resources (HR). This function is designed for use by businesses with operations in Hong Kong (HK).
The documentation for this function describes the archiving objects created for Hong Kong. An archiving object contains data that is related from a business perspective and that can be archived or destroyed collectively.
The archiving objects created for Hong Kong perform the destruction of data.
Caution
Data that has reached the end of its retention period and that for legal reasons may no longer be retained, and must be destroyed. The data is deleted from the operational system and the archive system. Using Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) data destruction, the data that is to be destroyed is deleted from the database of the archive system with a DELETE command. This is comparable with the destruction of files using a shredder.
For more information about the difference between the terms archive, delete, and destroy, see General Concepts of Data Destruction.
