Archiving Personnel Planning Data (PA-BC)

Use

This function enables you to use the BC_HROBJ archiving object to archive personnel planning data. You can archive data from infotypes that have an initial value in the PAPD field of table T777D . These infotypes are used in the Organizational Management (PA-OS), Personnel Development (PA-PD), and Training and Event Management (PE) components, for example.

Separate archiving objects are available for data from Personnel Administration (PA-PA) and Payroll (PY). For more information, see HR Archiving .

Integration

SAP Data Archiving (transaction AOBJ ) is used to archive personnel planning data. For more information, see Introduction to Data Archiving (CA-ARC) .

Prerequisites

The objects to be archived are internal object types. Internal object types are object types for which an entry exists in table T778O but not in table T77EO , for example, object type O (organizational unit) or D (business event type).

Features

  • You can archive all infotypes of personnel planning objects. You can also archive customer-specific infotypes.

  • You can archive objects in their entirety or in part.

  • You can use Business Add-Ins (BADIs) to archive additional data that is not stored in infotypes. For more information, see Enhancements (BAdIs) .

Activities

To archive data, proceed as follows:

  1. Configure data archiving. For more information, see Configuration (Archiving Subobjects) .

  2. If necessary, start the preprocessing program. For more information, see Preprocessing Program BC_HROBJ_PRE .

  3. Start the write program for data archiving. For more information, see the write program BC_HROBJ_WRI .

  4. If necessary, delete archived data. For more information, see Delete Program BC_HROBJ_DEL .

  5. Display the archived data. For more information, see Finding and Reading Archived Data .
